“Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.” ~John F. Kennedy

Here at BikeTown we couldn’t agree more. We love riding our bikes and want to help as many people as we can love riding their bikes, too.

Great job, everyone! We do want to say a special thanks to the sponsors of Bent Wheel Bash. First, thanks so much to the Abilene Police Department for letting us use the academy parking area and for providing so many volunteers. We appreciate it! Thanks to the city, too, for letting us develop and have access to Buck Creek Trails. Our other Bent Wheel Bash sponsors were McMurry, HSU, Abilene Bicycling Club, and BikeTown.

Of course, we have to give a huge shout-out to Steve Stovall, Gary Fraser, and Richard Valdez for organizing the event and getting the trails ready. It wouldn't have happened without you guys!

Thanks again to everyone who rode or helped out. Check back in a few days for some pictures.

Oops. Thanks for pointing that out! Can you tell it was late and I had typed a few too many names? Richard Valdez definitely needs a big thanks for all the hard work he did on the trails!

And I'm even having trouble typing comments - thus the deleted comment above!

Many thanks to all that made this awesome event happen! This event merely scratches the surface of potential this town can offer in terms of bike events. Let's continue to do everything in our power to grow the sport here...the ball is in our court now and we have the oppurtunity to make many more great things happen...let's not sit idle!

I saw a lot of people taking what looked like professional pictures during the pain I endured during the race. Any ideas to where these pictures may be found??

I noticed a bunch of people taking pictures with what looked like professional cameras. Any ideas to where these pictures are or could be made available would be greatly appreciated!

There were several people taking pictures. One of them brought a cd to us recently, so as soon as I have a chance I'll post some on the blog.
