“Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.” ~John F. Kennedy
Here at BikeTown we couldn’t agree more. We love riding our bikes and want to help as many people as we can love riding their bikes, too.
Every few weeks or so, we are going to put an employee pick on the blog. One of us will pick an item at BikeTown that we particularly like and let you know why it is a favorite.
Kelly's first employee pick is the CamelBak water bottle. CamelBak has taken its bite-valve system and put it on a water bottle. It fits in a water bottle cage and is also easily taken in the car, to the gym, around town, etc. It is also great for kids. It is big enough that mom or dad is not constantly refilling it, and the bite-valve helps keep it from spilling. Another big plus is that it is extremely tough (Kelly knows this because all of her young children use them) and dishwasher safe. Stop by and check them out. They are one of those items that once you use them, you'll find that they are indispensable. They also come in lots of fun colors! They would make a fun stocking stuffer for someone.
All right, y'all - the time trial is being moved to Sunday, January 6 at 2:00pm. As that date gets closer, check back on the blog for more details. Enjoy the Christmas season and get out on your bike and ride!
Well, folks - the weather sure is dreary! Enjoy some time curled up by a fire watching the Cowboys because the rain we got last night means the Buck Creek Trails Time Trial Stage 2 is postponed. The trail is wet and muddy and we sure don't want to make it a mess for all those who volunteer to maintain it. Right now, plan on coming out for Stage 2 next Sunday afternoon, December 16. The date is changed, but everything else stays the same. Hope to see everyone next week. Until then stay dry and warm!
Remember - this Sunday afternoon is the Buck Creek Trails Time Trial Stage 2! Come on out to the trails and join us in testing ourselves against the course. The time trial will start at 2:00 so be there a little early to register and warm up. Remember, there is no fee - it's free! Bring the kids again. After the time trial is over they will have their own race in and around the parking area. So, once again - please park outside the trail entrance.
It's Christmas season and several of the time trial organizers have commitments shortly after the event, so there will not be a cook-out this time around. However, there will be Gatorade and some holiday goodies for the taking.
Looking at the weather forecast, it seems that we have a chance of rain on Sunday. If it is raining, the time trial will be canceled. As we all know, riding on the trails when they are wet really messes them up and makes a lot of work for those who maintain the trails. If the weather is questionable, check the blog. We'll post an announcement on whether it's a go or not.
Have a great weekend and we're excited about seeing you at the trails on Sunday!
